Yes. An incorrect polarity might damage the device. Check to make sure that the polarity selector on the Universal Power Adapter is set to the proper polarity for the device you want to connect.
The voltage selector supports multiple voltages. The range varies according to the model. CPUAC600: 3V, 4.5V, 6V, 7.5V, 9V, and 12V. CPUAC1U1300: 3V, 4.5V, 5V, 6V, 7.5V, 9V, and 12V. CPUDC1U2000: 3V, 4.5V, 6V, 9V, and 12V.
